read Pudding W/tart Cranberry Sauce

2 Loaves stale French bread; cut 1" slices
3/4 lb Butter; melt
1 qt Sugar
3/4 c Vanilla
1 pn Nutmeg
15 Raw eggs
1 pt Orange juice
1/4 c Brnady
1 qt Milk
1/4 c Raisins
1 cn Whole cranberry sauce
1/3 -1/2 can of water for desired thickness
2 ts Vanilla
1/4 c Brandy
1 c Sugar
5 tb Cornstarch
1/4 Stick butter

Randomly fill a large pan or baking dish with the bread at least 3" deep. Mix all remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Pour this mixture on top of the bread and let soak about 5 minutes, pressing bread down occasionally. Sprinkle raisins on top. Bake in a 350~ oven for 45 minutes or until the pudding rises. Top with your favorite sauce or with TART CRANBERRY SAUCE-Allow everything to boil but the cornstarch. Mix in water and cornstarch alternately until a thick creamy consistency is achieved. You may not have to use all of either ~ it's the consistency that counts. Add butter to the hot sauce immediately before serving.
