Three Bean Salad

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 sm. onion, chopped medium fine
1 sm. green pepper, chopped medium fine
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can green beans, drained
1 (16 oz.) can cut wax beans, drained
1 (11oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can baby green lima beans, drained

Beat together the sugar, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Add the remaining ingredients and toss well. Chill for 8 to 12 hours, stirring several times to allow flavors to blend. Serve on lettuce. Keeps well stored in the refrigerator. Can be used as relish or a salad.
