Barbecued Baked Lentils 3 cups water
2 cups lentils
1/2 teaspoon salt -- divided
1 cup diced onion
2/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 350. Combine water, 1/4 salt, and lentils in a large saucepan.
Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Brain over a colander, reserving 1 cup liquid.
Combine lentils and diced onions in an 11 x 7 backing dish. Combine 1/4 tsp salt, reserved cooking liquid, and remaining ingredients. Pour over lentils, stirring to combine. Bake for 1 hour. Barbecued Baked Lentils printer friendly version located here. Click Back to return. |
