Red Bean and Rice

1 lb Small red beans (soaked overnight)
2 sl Bacon; chopped
3 lb Ham hocks
Salt
Pepper
1/4 Stick butter
1 Maui onion; chopped
3 Cloves garlic; pressed
1/2 Green pepper; chopped
1 sm Chili pepper; chopped fine
1 ts Brown sugar


Wash and soak beans overnight. Place first six ingredients in large pot and bring to a boil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 3-4 hours. Stir occasionally and add water, if needed. Serve with rice and sweet pickle relish.
