Portuguese Bean Soup
1 c Dried red beans
6 c Water
2 Onions -- sliced
1 Clove garlic -- minced
1/4 lb Salt pork -- cut in thick slices
3 Potatoes -- peeled and diced
1/4 ts Allspice
8 oz Can tomato paste
1 ts Salt
3 Beef bouillon
In slow-cooking pot, soak beans in water overnight. Cover and cook
on high for 2 to 3 hours or until tender. Add remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
