Buckshot Beans

2 c Dried pinto beans, washed
1 ea Lg. onion, chopped
2 ea Cloves garlic, minced
1 ea Bay leaf
1/2 lb Smoked ham, chopped
2 c Canned chopped tomatoes
1/2 c Chopped bell pepper
2 ts Chili powder
2 tb Brown sugar
1/2 ts Dry mustard
1/4 ts Oregano


Cover beans with water and let soak overnight. Drain beans, discarding soaking water. In slow cooker, cover beans with fresh water and add remaining ingredients.

Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours, until beans are tender.
