Beef and Beans
1Ib. Lean ground beef
19 oz. canned mixed beans
14 oz. canned black-eyed peas, with liquid
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup salsa
2/3 cup uncooked long grain converted rice
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup water
Scramble-fry ground beef. Drain well. Turn into 31/2 quart slow cooker.
Add remaining 10 ingredients. Stir. Cook on low for 8 to 9 hours or on high for 4 to 41/2 hours. Makes 8 cups.
