Smothered Steak with Black Beans 1 can diced tomatoes with green chiles - (10 oz)
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup - (10 oz)
1 can black beans - (16 oz) -- drained
1 large onion
1 green pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 pounds round steak or stew beef - (to 2 lbs) -- cut serving size
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker (3 1/2-quart or larger); mix well. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours (4 to 5 hours on HIGH). Serve over hot rice or with mashed potatoes. This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings. Comments: This makes quite a bit of juice, so you may double the meat and freeze half for future meals.
